S4 into S5 Options

Dear S4,

I hope you and your families are all keeping well.

At this time of year we begin to plan for next session and make decisions about our S5 Pathways. It’s essential we complete this process promptly so we know which subjects we need to run next year and to try to ensure as many pupils as possible get to take the subjects they require. Please read the information below carefully so you know what is required of you.

Firstly, please watch the video below which I have prepared to help guide you through the process. In normal circumstances we would have an options evening in the school led by your Year Head so this video replaces the guidance I would normally give on that evening. Parents and Carers are encouraged to watch this with young people to help support them through the options process.

Secondly, the document below provides extensive guidance on the options process moving into S5. Almost every question you will have will be answered within this guide so please take the time to read it thoroughly with your parents and carers. You will also find detailed guides for every course we offer, including college courses.

The Glow form should be completed by all S4 pupils by Wednesday 10th February 2021.
