Dear Pupils, Parents & Carers,
Young people who were entered for SQA Qualifications this year will receive their results certificate on Tuesday 9th August 2022. Please see the email sent to all pupils below, which contains all the information you require about results, appeals and and options changes.
Dear Pupils,
I hope you are all having a lovely summer holiday.
On Tuesday 9th August, you will receive your SQA Results to your home address. These will be delivered by post, so they may arrive at any point in the day, dependent on your local postal service. If you have signed up for text or email results via My SQA, you will also receive these on Tuesday after 8am. Your SQA Certificate will detail all the awards you have achieved this year. If you sat exams for National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher qualifications, your certificate will also show your final grade.
You may be able to appeal one or more of your grades if you don’t think they’re right. Not all candidates will be eligible for an appeal. In order to appeal the following applies:
- You must have sat all exam components (i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2) and submitted any coursework such as folios
- The grade on your SQA Certificate must be lower than the estimated grade your teacher submitted for you (you will remember that these were provided to you in May and could be collected from the school office)
For example, if your teacher estimated your grade for Higher English as 2(A) and you receive C, you may be eligible to appeal. If you receive the same grade as your estimate, or your estimate was lower than the final grade, you will not be eligible to appeal. Please note that only you can request an appeal, your parent or carer cannot do this on your behalf.
If you require an appeal for university entrance this year (Aug/ Sep 2022), your appeal will be prioritised by SQA.
If you wish to appeal any grades, you must notify us as soon as possible after receiving your results. You should use the form below to notify us. If you call the school to discuss an appeal, office staff will direct you to use the form below. This allows us to record candidate enquiries centrally and prioritise requests. The form will not open until Tuesday 9th August at 8am.
If you contact your class teacher, Pastoral Care teacher or Year Head to discuss an appeal, they will ask you to complete the form below.
If you need to change a subject choice for S5 or S6 based on your results or have any other SQA related query, you can also use the form to notify us.
School staff will not issue grade bands or component marks with you until you return to school. Principal Teachers can share this with you in person, if requested, from Thursday 18th August.
You can read more about the Appeals process here.
Kind Regards,
Miss Quigley
