Google Classrooms and Teams

Dear Parent/Carer,

Almost all timetables have been issued. We still continue to receive a number of emails about access to Google Classrooms and Teams on mobiles and tablets. Both are working for all pupils, but the sign in process for Google Classrooms requires use of a different email ending (suffix/domain) to that which pupils would normally use for glow. We have sent all pupils instructions again this evening.

Staff are sharing deadlines on SMHW, and this week 34 of 48 staff have posted deadlines there. However, the advantage in downloading Teams and Google Classrooms is that notifications will be sent to phones within the learning environment in use automatically. We highly recommend that pupils or their parents/carers download the Teams and Google Classrooms apps for free and sign in by following our guidance. In addition to the email sent to pupils, we also shared guidance on how to install both before Easter:

Tomorrow, we will share a directory in advance of Monday’s timetable change. We recommend that all pupils join their Teams and Google Classrooms over the weekend if possible.

While we hope that our guidance helps pupils sign in, we are keen that you contact us to let us know of problems. Please continue to use the contact us page of our website to get in touch. From Monday 25th, we will try to initiate telephone support for anyone still encountering issues with access to the system. However, we would stress that both platforms are fully operational and accessible if the guidance provided is followed.
