Welcome to the Music Department!

Our aim is for every young person to be encouraged and supported to achieve their best, while developing confidence and a love for, and appreciation of, all things musical.

Our success is evident, not simply in the consistently high levels of attainment of our young people, but also in the diverse range of opportunities young people can participate in, both in class and in extra curricular groups and activities such as choirs, bands, concerts, shows and community events.

Young people develop practical skills in performing, creating and understanding music from S1 onwards. From S4 and beyond, these skills are usually assessed in units and courses, with most young people achieving National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher.
