Well done to our S5 singers – Amy Baillie, Holly Ross and Sarah Wark – who performed some Christmas songs as part of the Kilmarnock Christmas Festival. It was a cold afternoon, but they kept shoppers’ spirits raised with their festive renditions.

We’ve had an excellent start to the new session, with rehearsals well under way for both our Junior and Senior Wind Bands. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays in the Rehearsal Room; Junior Band at lunchtimes and Senior Band after school.

“Stewarton bands have entered a new, exciting era with both the junior and senior band having restarted. The band is eager to place an emphasis on the pupil’s voice this year and build upon the strong sense of community that Stewarton has always prided itself on. As such, we welcome the establishment of the band ambassadors – Cara, Katie, Annabel, Grace, Sarah, Jenna and Sophie – who are excited to take on this role and reshape the band to its former prestige.” Grace McDade (S6)
Well done to all the pupils who performed in the EAC Spring Concert earlier this week. We had pupils in the Choir, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble and String Orchestra and it was lovely to see and hear them perform on stage along with pupils from schools across East Ayrshire.
Congratulations to all the competitors in our Young Musician Competition this week. Pupils competed in one of 3 classes – Junior (S1 and S2), Intermediate (S3 and S4) and Senior (S5 and S6) and all performed to an incredibly high standard.
