P7 Big Talk

Title: My Primary School Memories

You have been given a project to prepare and present a short 5-minute talk about your Primary School memories. The presentation should be as detailed as possible and could include information about

  • The different teachers you’ve had
  • Best school trips
  • Memories from school
  • Friends
  • Favourite topics
  • Best school lunch
  • Achievements
  • Favourite subjects

You could also use other ideas to enhance your talk e.g. PowerPoint (on GLOW), photos, drawings, diagrams or items from home.

It is important that you practise your talk at home as often as possible and use a timer to help. You may want to use notes or prompt cards to help you stay on track. It is crucial that your talk hits the 5 minute mark.

Talks should be ready to be presented the week beginning Monday 11th May.

I can’t wait to hear your talks!

Dolphin House

The weather looks superb for our residential later this week.  That means that we will be able to take part in some water sports. Please make sure your child has swimwear for under their wetsuit packed. Please make sure this is a one piece swimsuit for girls.

A new consent form will also be sent home today and MUST be returned tomorrow.

Thanks.

P7 Finale!

Term four is here and that means it’s go, go, go until summer! First up is the job of collecting photos of our current P7s for various end of year plans. Each pupil requires:

  • a baby picture
  • 2 recent pictures of them

Can you email these to me at fiona.mccaig2@eastayrshire.org.uk by Friday 8th May at the latest.

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

Enterprise Extravaganza Continued!

It’s been another busy start to the week with our enterprise projects in full swing.  ‘Mr Cleans’ and ‘The Calm Girls’ have been hard at work washing cars and delivering bracelet making workshops.  ‘The Pencil Wielders’ have also been busy running their art classes and the results have been fantastic!

There is a buzz around the school with everyone getting involved in activities and trying the tasty treats on offer.

Next week the Candy Kings will run a school tuck shop at play time with a range of sweets on offer.

Keep your eyes peeled next week when we plan to evaluate our success and announce our profits!

Enterprise Extravaganza

Our Virgin Money Enterprise is well underway. ‘Crumb and Get it’ and ‘Sweet Boutique’ have been busy fulfilling customer orders whilst our remaining businesses are finalising their marketing materials and budgets.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as the week rolls on.

Week Ending 06.03.26

This week we have been hard at work on our Virgin Money businesses. We have started our logo designs and budgeting. We’ve had a few obstacles to overcome with location and access to facilities but we are ‘pivoting’ and taking our businesses in other directions.

We also enjoyed the book swap for World Book Day and created our own picture books which we will read to the infants next week.

We finished up our data handling in maths and are now over half way thought our novel, Divided City.

PC Shirkie also visited our class to talk about Internet Safety. He gave us lots of information on how to stay safe online.

Homework Block

This is week one of our Numeracy homework block. Worksheets linked to previous learning will be sent home on a Monday to be returned on the Friday.  This block will run for three weeks. Any questions please contact the school office.

Thanks

It’s been another busy week in P7. This week we started our photography topic. We explored what makes a good photo and went outside to practise taking some landscape and portrait photos of our own.

We also had a trip to the Science Centre where we  explored all three floors and a trip to IMAX to watch the animal kingdom documentary. A few of us got some jump frights as reptiles and sharks came our way thanks to the 3D glasses

On Thursday we put our cooking skills to the test by making a delicious pot of lentil soup.  We chopped up onions, peeled and grated carrots and sliced leeks to add to the lentils and vegetable stock. Our patience was rewarded in the afternoon when we got to tuck in to a tasty cup of soup, complete with a slice of soft white bread to dip in.
