Class update 27/1/2021

Please enjoy a little update on some of the key events in class recently!

We have been working particularly hard on our Scottish landscape art. We studied key landmarks in China and spent some time comparing these to landmarks in Scotland. We have been working on splitting our art in to manageable chunks, as well as a focus on sketching. I can’t wait to see the finished products and will be sure to share these with you!

Wow – mastered the kelpie head shape!
The early stages, already looking great!
Great perspective shown here.
A fantastic sketch of the Kelpies!
Ebony enjoyed testing various materials to perfect the texture of the greenery in the image.

We have been learning ‘Willie Wastle’ for our mini Burns’ afternoon on Monday 31st January. We will each recite the poem and we will also hear some of the fantastic Toasts to and from the lassies which we wrote this week.

We began our China project last week and have been so engaged in the topic so far! We’ve really enjoyed looking through Miss McCulloch’s souvenirs, as well as wonderful photo album and book sent in by Abbie’s gran. I can’t wait to continue the learning and see the finished projects in February.

Please look out for the class newsletter to hear about all other learning happening this term.
