Happy Summer ☀️

It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of another school year, and what a great year it has been.

We’ve completed our final week of term with lots of fun activities. We had a brilliant time exploring all the amazing resources & activities in the Science Centre.

On Wednesday we were lucky enough to  watch Catrine’s Got Talent & see some of the amazing talents our Catrine pupils have.

Our P7s used the money left over from their leavers hoodies to enjoy a McDonald’s & movie afternoon.

We hope you all have a wonderful summer, we look forward to seeing all of our P6 pupils back in August for their final year at primary and wish all of our P7 pupils the best of luck for their move to S1 at the RBA.

Weekly Round-up

What a busy week we have had in P6/7. P6 joined in with P5/6 whilst the P7 went to the Robert Burns Academy for their bump up days.
P6 got to experience karate on Tuesday, they ran sports sessions for the rest of the school on Wednesday.
On Thursday we were back together as a class & got to experience Boxing & Hexagol with Kilmarnock football club.

Weekly Round-up

As this week is World of Work week we have been discussing the different skills and qualities that you need to do different jobs. We have researched and looked at the different qualifications you need for certain jobs and discussed what jobs we think we would be good at. We also completed the ‘Animal Me’ quiz, which helps you to discover what you are good at and learn more about your personality – it also recommends different jobs for you based on your answers.

We were also making the best of the good weather & started our Sports Championship activities outside.

Class Talks

P6 Class Talk

Title:  My Hero

You have been given a project to prepare and present a short 5 minute talk about a ‘hero’ of your choice. This person could be famous (footballer, singer etc.) or someone you know in real life. The presentation should be as detailed as possible and could include information about

  • Why this person is your hero
  • What about them inspires you
  • Who they are and where they come from (background etc.)
  • What have they achieved (successes or special talents)
  • How did they reach their goals?
  • What impact has your hero had on you

You can use the internet or books to find out facts about your chosen ‘hero’. You could also use other ideas to enhance your talk e.g. PowerPoint (saved pen-drive), drawings, diagrams or items from home.

You should practise your talk at home as often as possible and use a timer to help. You may want to use notes or prompt cards to help you stay on track.

Talks should be ready to be present the week beginning Monday 22nd May.
