Homework Week 1

Our homework focus for week 1 is to begin working on our Big Talks. For this Big Talk, pupils have been given the following topic –

You can choose any famous person to spend an entire day with. Who would you choose and why? You are in charge of planning the entire day, what will you plan to do?

Below is a list of some prompts pupils can use to support their Big Talk preparation:

  • Who is your famous person?
  • Why have you chosen this person? What makes them special to you?
  • Where are you going to spend your day? Make sure that your plans are relevant to where your location is. For example – if your day is taking place in Glasgow make sure each activity can be done in Glasgow.
  • How will you break up your day? Morning/afternoon/evening? By activity? By location?
  • Why have you chosen your activities?

Our Week

This week P6 have had a good start to Term 4. We have began to explore our new novel study – The Wreck of The Zanzibar by Michael Morpurgo. We have not yet read any of our book, but we worked in small groups to design our own covers based on the title. We then looked at all of the covers that exist for the book and wrote our predictions as to what the book will be about. We are excited to start! We have also been working on some art focused on the theme ‘On The Farm’.  We also completed an Easter mystery maths activity and have carried out some revision on Fractions.

Happy Easter!

We have had an exciting final week for Term 3.

We completed our stories that we were writing for our buddies, and finished them off with our own illustrations and front covers. We completed our novel study of Holes by Louis Sachar. We loved this book! We also watched the movie on Tuesday. We also created our own electrical circuits. We spent some time outside in the sun and have finished off our week by designing our eggs for our competition.

Have a lovely holiday!
