Weekly Roundup

It’s been a short but busy week for P5/6!

Literacy

The pupils have been learning to explore the main ideas of their current novel study. The pupils explored everything they already know about the main characters of the story and used inference to discuss what they assume about them from what they have read. The pupils also revisited descriptive writing features this week in order to write a recount of the events of the Titanic crash from a passengers’ perspective.

Maths

The pupils have been learning to identify equivalent fractions this weeks using fraction walls and bar models. They have used this knowledge to to identify and create sets of equal fractions.

Other Curricular Areas 

The pupils continue to explore perspective in art and were able to use this knowledge to produce powerful under the sea art.

The pupils also celebrated World of Work Week this week. Our pupils were able to share their dream job with the class. They also participated in the My World of Work animal quiz to find out what skills and qualities they have and what job roles these would be suited to.
