Weekly Update

We’ve had another busy week in P5. This week we have been learning to divide with remainders. We have been continuing to work on our multiplication masters and it has been great to sign off so many times tables. Keep practising – especially the 6, 7 and 8 x table. We were also learning about different types of angles and we used the K’nex to make some of our own angles.

In literacy we started to write our own narrative stories. This week we focussed on writing our introduction where we find out about the characters and the setting for our stories.

We also had a visit from some of the local recycling team, who taught us about our recycling trolley system and what things should be put into each box.

Weekly Round-up

This week we have been working hard on our division skills, and have been learning to divide with remainders. We continue to consolidate our times tables facts and use this knowledge to support our division work.

We have been learning about narrative stories in writing and this week we started to plan our own stories, we have some fantastic ideas and can’t wait to read them when they are finished.

We have been learning about different religious beliefs that people may have and this week we have been exploring Christianity.

We were also learning how to code our own games in ICT.

This week we also said goodbye to our friend Jenna, as she prepares for her move. We will really miss her & wish her all the best. Good luck!

Weekly Round-up

This week we have been continuing to read our novel, Charlotte’s Web, and have been practising our common words as part of our spelling activities. We were learning about speech marks and how they can be used to make our writing more engaging.

In numeracy we have been continuing to work on our multiplication and division skills and we were also learning about different types of angles.

We were learning about different Scottish dances and we were learning the steps to the Gay Gordons.

 

First Week Back

We’ve had a great first week back, catching up after the holidays. This week we started a new book study called Charlotte’s Web. We looked at our prior knowledge to see what we already know about the book. We have been revising our times tables and continuing to work on completing calculations involving money.

We have also been exploring different Scottish Landmarks and looking at different landscapes.

We’ve had such a busy week this week, from sewing our own Christmas decorations, showing off our amazing dance moves at our Christmas Party & enjoying a fabulous trip to the odeon.

We hope you all have an amazing Christmas & a Happy New Year, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in January.

Weekly Round-up

We have had such a busy week in P5. On Monday we had our dress rehearsal for the show, and some of the pupils from the ECC came along to watch.

We finished reading our class novel, Matilda, and wrote our own book reviews. After that we watched the film of Matilda, and this allowed us to compare any similarities and differences to the book.

We had a fabulous few nights showcasing all of our hard work in our school show of Cinderella & Rockerfella. Click the link the below for a wee snapshot of our night.

Weekly Update

This week we have been busy practising for the school show. We have been continuing to learn our timetables & are already signing lots off in our passports.
We had a fabulous week listening to everyones Big Talks & really enjoyed hearing about everyone’s favourite film or book. Thank you for all the help and time taken to prepare these.

We were learning all about micro-organisms in science and we completed our own experiments to see the effect soap has on germs.

Weekly Round-up

Primary 5 have had another busy week. This week we joined P6 and P7 in practising for the school show. We have been working hard to learn any lines as well as the words to the songs.

This afternoon we got the chance to make our lanterns for Make Catrine Sparkle and had a lovely afternoon with all of the visitors that came along to help. We can’t wait for you to see them all at the parade.

Weekly Round-up

We started off our week with Remembrance Day on Monday. We observed a 2 minute silence in class and went for a walk to visit the war memorial with P4.

It was lovely to see so many families join us for our literacy open morning on Tuesday. We enjoyed sharing our learning with you all.

On Thursday we got to watch a super theatre production called ‘Hope’ which explored the issue of bullying and led to some fantastic discussions.

It’s been another busy week in P5! This week we have been practising our common words, looking at the relationship between multiplication & division facts, and learning about the dangers of smoking. We also enjoyed a beautiful autumn walk to the Monument on Monday.
