Weekly Round-up

This week we took part in a consultation with town planners from East Ayrshire Council. Town planners decide where development can and can’t happen and they consult with towns and villages about this.

We got to share everything that we love about our village and discuss the things that need some improvement. This will help inform the new local development plan that is being written.

The RBA concert band came along yesterday and put on a performance for all P4 and P5 pupils. We got to learn all about the different instruments that are played in the band and the sounds that they make.

Weekly Update

P5 had a fun start to the week! After our walk to the Black Horse last week some of our pupils asked if we could return again this week, but take along some nets, trowels, bug tubs and beakers. We met P4  when we were there and we all had a great time river dipping and looking at all the different things we found.

Weekly Round-up

It’s been another glorious week and we made the most of the sunshine by going a walk to the Black Horse on Monday. We saw lots of little minnows and tadpoles on our visit, and discussed the importance of water safety.

We have completed another 2 activities for our Sports Championship and can’t wait to get started with our Chess Championship.

Today we were learning to use the new drawing app in Office 365, and created our own pictures using the different shapes.

Homework Week 3

We have been learning about homophones as part of our spelling work. This week pupils have been given a worksheet home with different homophones, and have to find out and write the meaning of each word.

We started listening to our Big Talk presentations today, and it has been great to hear about those individuals that our pupils look up to and are inspired by. We can’t wait to hear the rest of them throughout this week.

It’s been a short but busy week in P5.

We have been  continuing to read more of our new novel, The Worst Witch.

This term we have been looking at persuasive writing, and discussing the differences between debates and balanced arguments. This week we discussed whether or not animals should be kept in a zoo, we had a  great discussion about this and listened to everyone’s reasons for and against it.

We have also been practising for our Sports Championship this week and completed our next activity with P4.
