Week 1 – Big Talk

Title:  My Hero

You have been given a project to prepare and present a short 5-minute talk about a ‘hero’ of your choice. This person could be famous (footballer, singer etc.) or someone you know in real life. The presentation should be as detailed as possible and could include information about

  • why this person is your hero
  • what about them inspires you
  • who they are and where they come from (background etc.)
  • what they have achieved (successes or special talents)
  • how they reached their goals
  • what impact your hero has had on you

You can use the internet or books to find out facts about your chosen ‘hero’. You could also use other ideas to enhance your talk e.g. PowerPoint (on GLOW or saved pen-drive), drawings, diagrams or items from home.

You should practise your talk at home as often as possible and use a timer to help. You may want to use notes or prompt cards to help you stay on track.

Talks should be ready to be present the week beginning Monday 12th May.

Term 4

We can’t quite believe that it is term 4 already, and what a busy term it is going to be.

This week we have been learning about different spelling rules, learning more about fractions and writing our own spring poems.

We have been practising for the chess championship and this week we were looking more in depth at the queen and best ways to use this piece. We have also been working hard on our competition entries for the Catrine Show.

End of Term 3 🐣

It’s been another busy week in P5!

This week we were looking at the different countries that clothes are made in, locating them on a world map & finding out the capital of each country.

We loved getting the chance to put out all of our jotters, for our parents to look through, and to see how hard we’ve been working this year.

We have been hard at work designing our own eggs for the easter egg competition and what a creative bunch P5 are. It’s going to be a tough decision for the judges!

We had our final rugby session with Blair from Cumnock Rugby Club on Wednesday & even got to play a few games.

Have a lovely Easter break & we look forward to welcoming everyone back for term 4 on Tuesday 22nd April.
