This week we have been learning all about fractions. We created our own fraction walls and were learning to identify what fraction of a shape has been shaded. We have also been learning about right angles as degrees of turns.

In grammar we were focussing on our sentences and what a sentence should have. We have also been writing more of our narrative stories and they are coming on brilliantly. We spent time listening to each others stories and giving feedback using our ‘Tickled Pink’ and ‘Green for Growth’ approach.

We have been continuing to develop our fitness skills in PE, focussing on our running and circuits. We also got the chance to make fruit kebabs with Miss Kay as part of our health and wellbeing work.

Weekly Update

We’ve had another busy week in P5. This week we have been learning to divide with remainders. We have been continuing to work on our multiplication masters and it has been great to sign off so many times tables. Keep practising – especially the 6, 7 and 8 x table. We were also learning about different types of angles and we used the K’nex to make some of our own angles.

In literacy we started to write our own narrative stories. This week we focussed on writing our introduction where we find out about the characters and the setting for our stories.

We also had a visit from some of the local recycling team, who taught us about our recycling trolley system and what things should be put into each box.
