This week we were learning to split our words into syllables. We were reading some more of our book ‘Matilda’ and we were learning about inference. This is where we use clues from the book to work out what the author is meaning.

We were learning about place value and we were learning to round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. We also got a starting number and were working out 10 more and less, 100 more and 100 less and 1000 more and 1000 less.

We went to PE with Miss Kay and we were playing different games.

We were learning to login to GLOW. We also finished our class charter and we discussed our school values and we made a poster about what included means to us.

We also got a surprise visit from Super Tattie, who is the school dinner mascot.

What a great start we have had to P5!

This week we have been learning all about place value. We have been partitioning numbers and using the dice and digit cards to see what is the biggest and smallest value that we can make.

We made new cards for our class timetable. We also made birthday cards so that we can give them out to everyone in our class when it is their birthday.

We also completed a ‘Who am I?’ activity. We wrote clues all about us for people to read then guess and see if they are right. We then drew a self portrait so that they can look and see.

We’ve also been busy making our class charter too.
