This week P4/5 have been learning how to subtract using partitioning. This strategy really helps break up larger numbers into more manageable chunks and so can make tricky subtracting calculations much easier. Have a look at some of the examples below.
We have moved onto a new topic in numeracy and we are now looking at 2D and 3D shapes. Everyone made posters to show the 2D and 3D shapes they knew at the beginning of the week, and since then we have also looked at the properties/features of 2D shapes.
We have been continuing with our class novel, Danny the Champion of the World, and have completed a range of different activities related to the story. However, the children’s favourite activity was making their own kites just like Danny and his dad did in the novel. Take a look at some of our designs!
We have also continued with our Scottish Landmarks topic. This week we looked at The Kelpies. We completed a research activity all about The Kelpies and also created our own pieces of art.
Another busy week for P4/5!
