This week we started our new numeracy topic which is all about fractions, decimals and percentages. We started off by reminding ourselves how we find a fraction of a shape and then moved onto finding a fraction of a number. Take a look at some of our brilliant work below.

For writing this term we are focussing on persuasive writing. This week we discussed everything we need to be successful in writing a persuasive piece and we looked at some examples. We then created our own posters which focussed on the importance of being careful in the sun. We hope we have persuaded you to be extra cautious this summer!

We have also moved onto a new topic in gym – fitness. We took advantage of the good weather and completed our circuits outside in the playground. Everyone worked really hard at each station, well done!

This term we are continuing to read Danny the Champion of the World. This week we focussed on the visualisation strategy and we drew pictures of what we think the teachers from Danny’s school look like. We used the text to help us with our drawings.

This week we have been very lucky and we got a shot on the school’s gymnastics equipment. We got to climb ropes, have a go on the monkey bars and climb on the climbing frames! We also played some games of basketball now that there are two basketballs hoops. Take a look at some of the action shots below.

We also spent some time finishing off our topic from last term which looked at significant people from the past. We watched a short video all about Rosa Parks and how she refused to give up her seat on the bus. We took notes, made mind maps of the key events and then turned these into story boards.
