We have continued our Scottish Landmarks topic by looking at Ben Nevis this week. On Wednesday we started making our paper-mache Ben Nevis mountains after finding out some interesting facts and having a really good class discussion about all things Ben Nevis. We are waiting for our mountains to dry before painting them next week. They are looking good so far!
This week we have been learning about the ‘make 10’ mental maths strategy. This strategy requires knowledge about number bonds to multiples of 10. Have a look at some of our work below.
We have also continued with our class novel and are making good progress with it. We focussed on chapters 4 and 5 this week and completed an inference activity on Danny’s dads feelings towards poaching.
We are still looking at 2D shapes and have focussed on tiling/tessellation. We made some predictions about which shapes would tile/tessellate and then we looked at some examples of tiling/tessellation in the real world. We also had a go ourselves.
I hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!
