It has been a busy week of learning in Primary 4!

This week we have been working on Number Talk strategies, times tables and place value in numeracy. In literacy we have been working on improving our writing by using punctuation.

We have been learning about French greetings and continuing to practise numbers to 20. Madison has been working hard at home to learn the numbers to 100 in French!

In art we have been learning to draw self portraits.

We have started to learn about Planet Earth as part of our Science topic for this term. We talked about what we already know about Planet Earth and what we want to know.

Primary 4 have had a great first full week in class and have settled well into their new routines.

This week we have been working hard practising times tables and partitioning 3 digit numbers in numeracy. We started our new book study ‘The Twits’ by Roald Dahl in literacy and have been working on the reading strategies ‘prior knowledge’ and ‘main ideas’. We also worked together to create our ‘Class Charter’ for this session.

We have been discussing our school value ‘Respect’ and the ways in which we show respect in school. We made a poster to go on display in the main corridor.

Our PE days in P4 will be a Monday and Wednesday.

Please make sure your child has indoor gym shoes and shorts/leggings (labelled) in order to take part in P.E.  These can be kept in school in a labelled bag. All jewellery (including earrings) must be removed before taking part in lessons.
