Weekly Round-Up

This week in Primary 4 we have been revising Number Talk strategies and learning to round numbers to the nearest 10 in maths.

We have been learning about similes in literacy and wrote some super Rainbow Simile poems during our writing lesson this week.

We also created some beautiful rainbow mindfulness art by using lots of different patterns.

We have started to learn about Planet Earth as part of our Science topic for this term. We talked about what we already knew, what we wanted to learn and we were identifying living and non-lining things. We also had fun playing team games during our P.E. lesson with Mrs McKenna.

Enjoy the sunshine this weekend!

First Full Week in P4

Primary 4 have had a great first full week in class and have been working so hard.

We have been practising writing numbers in words and partitioning up to 4 digit numbers in maths. We started our new book study ‘The Twits’ by Roald Dahl in literacy. We have been working on the reading strategies ‘prior knowledge’ and visualisation. We also worked together to create our ‘Class Charter’ for this session.

We had a visit from our school meals mascot ‘Super Tattie’.

We had lots of fun playing parachute games in P.E.

Our PE days in P4 will be a Monday and Wednesday.

Please make sure your child has indoor gym shoes and shorts/leggings (labelled) in order to take part in P.E.  These can be kept in school in a labelled bag. All jewellery must be removed before taking part in lessons.

Logan R. was the winner of a Ruby Reward ticket today and chose Logan B. to sit with him at the Ruby Reward table.

Well done Logan!

Back to School

Primary 4 have had a busy first few days of term and have settled in well to their new class and routines. Mrs McKenna was so happy to be back in class today to see all of the pupils and to hear their news!

Our P.E days for this session will be on a Monday and Wednesday.

Have a great weekend!
