Last Week of P4

It’s hard to believe that it’s the last day of term 4, it’s been a very quick year.

We had a class party on Tuesday as a reward for our enterprise work this term.

We had a great school trip to Heads of Ayr Farm Park on Wednesday. We had lots of fun singing on the bus, bouncing on the bouncy pillow and trampolines and exploring the Wild Child Woods.  We got to see lots of amazing animals, had a picnic lunch outside and enjoyed the indoor play area. What a fantastic day we all had!

Well done to the Callum, Carter and Charlotte who were showing off their football and gymnastics skills at Catrine’s Got Talent yesterday morning. You were very brave to stand up and perform in front of the whole school.

We finished off the school year with a movie day. We voted to watch the movie Lilo & Stitch.

Have a great summer holiday everyone!

Weekly Round-Up

We have been rounding up our learning in P4 this week. We finished our class book study ‘The Hundred Mile An Hour Dog’ and wrote a review for the book. We completed our work on angles in maths and created some lovely art work with Miss Kay.

We also enjoyed a class walk in the lovely sunshine.

We got to watch the live Chess Championship final. Congratulations to Brody in P6 who was this year’s winner.

Very well done to all of our P4 prizewinners who received an award at our prize giving ceremony on Wednesday. The awards were as follows:

Successful Learner: Braxton

Responsible Citizen: Allan

Effective Contributor: Adam

Confident Individual: Carter

Excellence in Learning: Maya

P4 Literacy Award: Miley

It’s hard to believe that next week is the final week of this school year! Miss Russell will be visiting the school on Monday afternoon to meet the class and to have a ‘getting to know you’ session with the pupils. We also have our class party, a trip to Heads of Ayr Farm Park and Catrine’s Got Talent to look forward to.

Have a great weekend!

Health Week

We have been taking part in lots of fun activities for Health Week this week.

On Monday we got to practise our football skills with Kilmarnock Football Club.

We were also learning about oral health and the importance of brushing our teeth.

On Tuesday morning we were food tasting and learning about different fruit and vegetables with Eddie and Amy from The Cotton Trail.

As part of their leadership P6 pupils organised some great circuit stations for us in the playground in the afternoon.

On Wednesday we were learning about water safety with Richard from the RNLI and line dancing with Miss Brown.

In the afternoon we went for a class walk to the river to practise our photography skills and take photos of the natural environment.

On Thursday we were learning about fire safety with firefighter Gerry.

We then got to build dens in the playground with our families and enjoyed eating our lunch outside. In the afternoon we got to take part in different ‘Busy hands, calm minds’ activities.

Mrs McKenna and Mrs Watt’s ‘Busy hands, calm minds’ group went for a walk to the Voes to feed the ducks.

We finished off the week with laser tag and a silent disco.

As well as all of these great activities, Primary 4 have been busy making and selling popcorn cones as part of their enterprise project this week. The pupils have all worked so hard and have made an amazing profit of £54.15 which will go towards an end of term class party. Thank you so much for all of your support.
