It was wonderful to see everyone after the summer holiday. I am delighted to also welcome some new members to the class. We were busy in the first few weeks deciding how we wanted to run our class and this is what we agreed on.

In P.5 we chose these …
Article 12
You have the right to be listened to.
Article 20
You have the right to learn.
Article 28
You have the right to an education.
Article 29
You have the right to become the best you can be.
Article 31
You have the right to play and relax.
Reward System
In class, we have a class points system linked to our charter and the school values of Kind, Proud and Successful.
Each group is given a –
shiny green stone – for listening attentively
wooden love heart – for being kind and helpful
rose coloured paper clip – for amazing work
button – for being safe and washing their hands.
These tokens are collected in the group jar and counted on a Friday.
The winning group receive a silver trophy as a reward to sit on their desk. Each member of the group is also given a privilege card. This card can be exchanged for a 15 minute activity for example construction with Lego or K’nex, computer time or ‘Be the Teacher’ and deliver a short lesson.
Class Responsibilities
We created a list of class jobs that makes sure our classroom runs smoothly. We work in pairs to complete these tasks.
Every week our names move down the list so that we get a different job to do. In time we will all have the experience of every job in the class.
I am delighted to see everyone giving their best effort. Well done P5! Click the link below to see what we have been learning about so far this term.
