We were in full party mode this week, all the pupils and staff had fun dancing, playing games and enjoyed a few Christmas treats.

P3 had a great time at the Panto this week, we were all very proud of our 2 superstars who performed on stage. Well done!

Thanks to our lovely kitchen staff we all got to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch together.

Primary 3 used finger torches to hunt out magic e words.

As part of our Farm to Fork topic, we learned about growing food. We discovered plants and trees are very important for our environment so we decided to help our planet by making our own compost. We layered recycled paper, leaves and fruit peeling in a plastic bottle, sprayed it with water and placed it in our warm cupboard. It will take a long time but we are hoping we can use it to plant some seeds in the Spring.

P3 listened carefully to instructions to make a snowflake. They stuck the snowflake onto paper and sponge painted all around it before finishing it off with glitter.

This week we were using our magnetic boards and playing Hangman to help us with our spelling words.

As part of topic we have been discussing why it is important to look after our planet. We joined schools from all over Britain for a live lesson on why plants are important for our planet. We got to see the inside of the Eden Project and we looked at different types of plants. We discovered plants have lots of important jobs like giving us food and oxygen and they also help to keep our planet cool. Next week we are going to think about what we can do to help.

Thank you so much to our P7 pupils for setting up great activities for our P3s to share with their adults who attended our literacy open morning. I hope the P3s get to enjoy their Book Bug bags at home.

Well done to all P3s for their preparation and their presentations of their Big Talks. Mrs Withers loved learning lots of new facts about their favourite animals.
