This week we tried to save Incy Wincy Spider from getting wet. The children thought about the different types of materials we had, they chose him a jacket to keep him dry and then carried out experiments to see if they were right.
We discovered that the materials with holes in them made him wet but the material that had no holes was waterproof.
P3 were learning how to add in chunks.
First they learned about empty number lines and how to use them, then they went on to use these to add up in friendly numbers. This means they can solve addition calculations using larger numbers.
This week we will be focusing on the 5 times table. You can pick 2 activities from the homework grid to complete at home.

P3 enjoyed learning about the properties of materials with the P1s.
Last week they designed landings that could help save Humpty Dumpty when he fell off the wall.
Here are our little scientists, this week, carrying out their experiments of their designs. Both P3s and P1s engaged well in pairs to make their predictions of what they thought would happen.

We had great fun at PE playing games with the parachute! The children were practicing turn taking , working as a team, listening and following instructions.
