P3 Big Talk Homework

P3 Big Talk Homework

P3 have been given a project to prepare and present a short 3 minute talk about a country. You might want to choose a country that you have visited before, somewhere you would like to visit or even just somewhere you want to know more about.

Some things you might want to include are: the language of the country, capital city, population, what the weather is like, a popular food, famous landmarks, famous people from this country or any other interesting facts.

You could also use other ideas to enhance your talk e.g. PowerPoint (saved on GLOW or pen-drive), drawings, diagrams or items from home.

You should practise your talk at home as often as possible and use a timer to help. You may want to use notes to help you stay on track.

Talks should be ready to present the week beginning Monday 12th May.

It has been a busy first week of our final term in Primary 3.

On Wednesday, we worked together as a class to decide which book to choose as our new novel study. We looked into 3 different options.

We looked at the cover, blurb, author and genre to make our decision. It was a pretty close tie, however, we have decided upon our new novel – ‘Horrid Henry and the Bogey Babysitter’ by Francesca Simon.

In maths, we used this week to revise some knowledge of time. We reminded ourselves of some key facts, played games relating to o’clock and half past and even managed to get outside in the nice weather to play a game of ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf’ where we had to use our knowledge of the analogue clock.

We are now ready to progress our learning and look at matching analogue and digital times, including quarter past and quarter to!

**A reminder that next week will be the start of our 4 week homework block. There will be further information posted on the blog by Miss Kay, on Monday. **

This week Primary 3 have been hard at work designing their eggs for our annual Easter egg competition.

We are a very creative bunch and made use of a range of materials to create our eggs. We had eggs ranging from minions and Easter chicks to farmers and Jesus!

It was a tough decision for the judges!

Here is a picture of our very worthy winner Logan and his ‘pig in a farm’  design.
