31.1.25

This week we have continued with our study of ‘The Enormous Crocodile’. We are developing our knowledge of the story using our comprehension strategies.

We are becoming more confident using our task maps. Have a look at some of the different types of tasks and strategies we have used so far.

This term we have also been enjoying taking part in printmaking – a type of  Process art. We have been experimenting with different ways to make prints and seeing what we can create.

So far we have created art with techniques using our fingers,  as well as foil and water.

This week, we took part in bubble printing. We first made a solution using colouring, water and liquid soap. We used a straw to create bubbles and gently pressed our paper onto the bubbles to create a print of them.

We also made a fantastic start to our novel study and began using our ‘Task Maps’. We developed our understanding of the story using metalingustics and visualisation and were able to better understand the vocabulary used by Roald Dahl after working with our partners.

First Week Back

What a super first week back to school in 2025!
This week we began our new novel study ‘The Enormous Crocodile’. Logan got creative and made us an ‘enormous’ illustration and had some help from his classmates to paint his art! Wow!
We have enjoyed discussing our prior knowledge and making predictions about the novel.
There will be a change to the class P.E timetable. P.E kit will now be required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
