British Science Week

Primary 2/3 have been doing lots of fun activities in class this week to celebrate British Science Week.

We really enjoyed working in groups to do the ‘Skittles Experiment’. We had to place some skittles around the edge of a plate, add some warm water and then watch to see what happened. The skittles made a rainbow effect when the coloured coating on the skittles dissolved. It was amazing!

We had lots of fun using cubes to copy patterns created by the STEM committee group. Look at these super, long patterns we made. Calli even made one which was taller than Mrs McKenna!

We got the chance to experiment with a plasma ball. We loved touching the ball and watching the coloured bolts of light follow our every move. It was fascinating!

We have also been keeping busy with our literacy and numeracy work in the class. We have been learning some new strategies for multiplying and have been working really hard on our reading this week.
