Our pupils have been very busy over the past few weeks.
Literacy
The P2 pupils have been exploring the purpose of non-fiction and fiction texts. They were able to discuss the differences between the texts and could use this knowledge to sort the books from our class library into the correct genres. Our pupils have also been learning to spell words with the ‘ow’ sound this week.
A huge well done to all of our pupils who made it through the final stages of the Scots Verse Competition. Leah was our P2 runner up and Emily was our winner!
Numeracy
The pupils have been learning to skip count in 2s and 5s this week. They have also been learning their 1, 2 and 5 times table as part of our school’s Multiplication Masters initiative.
Across the Curriculum
The pupils in P2 have been learning to serve in badminton this week and created windmills whilst exploring wind energy sources in science. As well as this, the pupils enjoyed playing Pooh Sticks, a game inspired by Katie Morag, during our community walk. Please also take a look at some of the beautiful art displays created by P2, inspired by the artist Henri Rousseau.
