What a busy and exciting week we have had! We have been learning about different materials, making ramps for cars, designing a chair for a bear, building models, making electrical circuits, discussing floating and sinking, learning about absorption, making windmills and lots more. We had a visit from the Science Centre and had a presentation called ‘Go, Oxygen , Go!’ which was very interactive. We also shared our learning with Primary 3B on Friday. We did some exciting experiments with P3B organised by Miss Kinnaird. We learned how to make a fantastic lava lamp and how to make a balloon move along a thread at top speed. Our class has completed some fabulous homework linked to STEM week and we presented this to P3B. (If you haven’t brought anything in to school there is still time to bring it in next week). We had some fabulous boats, rockets, robots, Lego and K’nex models and even some Maths games. Lots of recycling was going on! We have also learned about lots of things that are powered by electricity. Some of us even did some baking at home. The banana bread sounded really yummy! Mrs Campbell was very impressed and proud of the way in which the children talked about their learning to an older class of children. A great way to end STEM week!
