Welcome to our latest update and once again we have been busy at school.

They had great fun during walk to school week and it was lovely seeing them take part.
Literacy and numeracy continue to progress and we have been exploring different types of measure: length, weight and volume, and exploring these using non-standard units/standard units and different instruments of measure.
We have explored fractions, finding halves and quarters of shapes and amounts. P1 have also been developing addition and subtraction skills within 10 and doubles facts to 20.

P2’s have been practicing using commas in lists.

Through our topic and science work we have been learning about what things need to grow, (light, heat and water). We have explored the water cycle and carried out experiments to show what happens when water is heated and cooled, and how changes using the appropraite vocabulary, evaporation/condensing/freezing/melting.
We have made grass heads and are looking after them and observing their changes as they grow and ensuring they have what they need to grow.
We have explore sources of energy and had fun building a simple circuit.

We have made salt dough ( measuring out the ingredients) and then used it to make plaques of the planet which we have painted and experimented mixing primary colours.

The finished plagues.
Our grass heads after just a few days..
This morning…… look how they have grown.
We are looking forward to the Jubilee celebrations, practicing our skills for Sports Day, and the visit to Blair Drummond. Another busy few weeks ahead.
Have a great weekend and Jubilee holiday when it comes.
From P1/2 and Mrs Mooney
