Transition

Introduction

What does transition mean? Movement, passage or change from one position, state, stage, subject or concept to another change.

Some examples of transition are as follows:

  • having a baby in the family
  • accidents , bereavement
  • getting married
  • relocation / move schools.

These are all examples of transition that adults and child can experience within a family unit which may negatively or positively effect their mood and/or behaviour.

This module seeks to provide some information on how we can cope with change and as parents how we can manage the reaction of a child who experiences some degree of transition in their life.
