Writing:
One of the most thrilling endings to a story is a cliffhanger where the audience are left wondering what is going to happen in the next chapter. For example:
“Opening the window, we looked outside, trying to see what had made the noise. We peered into the dark, straining our eyes. There was a blur of movement. Something was out there.”
This week I would like you to write an imaginative fiction story that ends on a cliffhanger. It can be about anything you like and can be typed or hand written. Please remember to think about:
- Descriptions of characters, setting, mood and feelings
- Punctuation
- Exciting sentence openers
Kid Normal:
Listen to chapter 15 of Kid Normal – https://stories.audible.com/pdp/B07533YSBN?ref=adbl_ent_anon_sc_pdp_pc_0
Friendship and its importance are one of the main themes of this chapter.
Think about the things/characteristics you look for in a friend. Do you like a friend who is caring or funny? Create a poster with all the characteristics you are thankful your friends have. You could even draw yourself and your friends on it.
Art:
While outside for your daily exercise see if you can find a rock or stone that you can decorate. Decorate it with colourful patterns, pictures or messages. When you get back to school you can use them to decorate the garden and cheer people up. Other classes have done this activity too so the garden will look wonderful.
