Dinosaur Topic Update

We have been up to so many things in Primary 3/4 with our topic of Dinosaurs, we felt it was time for an update!

This week, we had Matthew Staitis from the University of Edinburgh chat to us all about dinosaurs! He showed us some different dinosaur fossils and told us where we could find some dinosaurs in Cumnock! He answered all of our dinosaur questions and we loved meeting him, Thank you Matthew and The Hunterian Museum, Glasgow! We’ve even even been put up on Twitter for our amazing questions and listening.

We have also been creating some dinosaur themed art to brighten up our walls. We explored how to mix different colours and we followed instructions when drawing our dinosaurs. Miss Aird is still to put them up in our class but here’s a sneak peak of our hard work.

Check our our own version of the Kelvingrove Diplodocus! This is where all of your toilet roll tubes went to. We used our problem solving and design skills to create our own Tyrannosaurus Rex for our classroom. We ran into a few structural problems but we used our engineering process to evaluate and adapt our design.

We’ve been filling up our topic wall with all of our work. We have looked into living and non-living things  and food chains. We even made our own volcano with Mrs Smith!

We’ve been loving our topic so far and we can’t wait to keep on going!
