Literacy
Children have been allocated a book on Bug Club. Please try to read your book more than once as this will help increase fluency and understanding. Once initially completed the book will go into your child’s library to read again.
We will be looking at the joined phoneme ‘oi’ this week, like boil, voice, coin, oil. Children can practise making their words with these sounds using their magnetic letters and boards.
The common words are: their, some, then and last.
Children should try to read, write and spell these words. Can you please encourage your child to write two sentences containing two of the common words.
Numeracy
We are working on subtraction just now. It may be helpful to make up some sums to answer.
Please see the link below for activities which can be completed over the last two weeks of school:
Mrs McKee has recently been in touch with Howard House Care Home to see if we could bring a bit of festive cheer to the residents virtually this year. We would like to be able share our nativity with them online. If anyone has any concerns about this or would prefer that the link to view was not sent then please get in touch with the school or you can email me on eaheather.griffiths@glow.sch.uk
A huge thank you to the boys and girls of primary 2A for learning all of their lines for our nativity. I think they are absolutely wonderful and I’m so proud of what they’ve achieved in about 2 weeks! I hope you enjoy watching our Nativity, please click on the link below to watch(it’s a rather large file so it may take a few minutes to load):

Primary 7 have been working on The Global Goals topic and have come up with an idea to do a reverse advent calendar. They have issued each child with a date, should you wish to contribute, to bring in a non-perishable item to donate to the food bank. The stickers with the date for your child has either been placed in their homework diary or on them today! If your date falls on a Saturday in December could your child bring it in on the Friday and if it falls on a Sunday could you please bring it in on the Monday.
