Panto Fun!🎭
We thoroughly enjoyed our virtual panto Robin Hood and his Socially Distanced Men!
We even got given a little treat from the school at half time!😋🍦
Homework week beg 14th December
Children have been allocated a book on Bug Club. Please try to read your book more than once as this will help increase fluency and understanding. Once initially completed the book will go into your child’s library to read again.
This is a consolidation week so we will be looking at the joined phonemes ‘ue,aw and oi ’ this week together with the associated common words.
If you wish you can continue with the Connect four challenge given last week.
Christmas Fun Day 🎅🎄
We had a great day today making some Christmas crafts and playing some party games. One of the highlights were the photo booth props and as you can see from our photographs we like to strike a pose! I thought the children looked fabulous as well.😊
Nativity Superstars💫
Here are some pictures of our wonderful cast of Jesus in the Manger:
Visit to Santa
We had a lovely visit to see Santa and got a nice present to take home today. Happy faces all round!🎄🎅
Homework week beg 7th December
Literacy
Children have been allocated a book on Bug Club. Please try to read your book more than once as this will help increase fluency and understanding. Once initially completed the book will go into your child’s library to read again.
We will be looking at the joined phoneme ‘oi’ this week, like boil, voice, coin, oil. Children can practise making their words with these sounds using their magnetic letters and boards.
The common words are: their, some, then and last.
Children should try to read, write and spell these words. Can you please encourage your child to write two sentences containing two of the common words.
Numeracy
We are working on subtraction just now. It may be helpful to make up some sums to answer.
Please see the link below for activities which can be completed over the last two weeks of school:
Sharing Our Nativity
Mrs McKee has recently been in touch with Howard House Care Home to see if we could bring a bit of festive cheer to the residents virtually this year. We would like to be able share our nativity with them online. If anyone has any concerns about this or would prefer that the link to view was not sent then please get in touch with the school or you can email me on eaheather.griffiths@glow.sch.uk
Jesus in the Manger
A huge thank you to the boys and girls of primary 2A for learning all of their lines for our nativity. I think they are absolutely wonderful and I’m so proud of what they’ve achieved in about 2 weeks! I hope you enjoy watching our Nativity, please click on the link below to watch(it’s a rather large file so it may take a few minutes to load):
