Numeracy & Maths Learning

Here are some fun activities to do at home that would help your child get ready for Numeracy & Maths learning.

  • Sing some number rhymes and songs, The BBC School radio have some fun clips to sing along to. Click here to visit the site.
  • Practice counting skills with everyday household objects and toys.
  • Play number games such as dominoes and snap.
  • Complete some dot to dot puzzles.

  • Practise sorting toys and objects you might find around the house. Sort be colour, size, shape or any other criteria your child may think of.
  • Talk about daily routines and times of day (morning, afternoon, night) as well as days of the week.

  • Talk about and use positional language – beside, under, in, on, left, right.
  • Become familiar with money through handling coins.
