Mrs Smith’s Maternity Leave!

Well Primary 3, it is time for me to say goodbye as I patiently await the arrival of Baby Smith.

I am very pleased to tell PRIMARY 3S that Mrs Nelson and Mrs McPhail are going to be your online teachers after the Easter holidays.

If you have any questions or pictures can you please email them after the Easter holidays as I won’t be accessing my email from now on.

Their email addresses are –

earhiannon.nelson@glow.sch.uk

eacassandra.mcphail@glow.sch.uk

A P3S ‘TEAMS’ page is also being set up so you can contact your classmates during the holidays and your teachers after the holidays.

I want to finish by saying it has been an absolute pleasure teaching every single one of you. I’m so sorry we haven’t been together the past few weeks but we have all had to keep safe.

I wish all of Primary 3 lots of luck for Primary 4 and I promise I will come in to visit once you are all back at school.

Please take very good care of yourselves.

Love Mrs Smith X

Happy Holidays

We hope you all have a lovely time with your family over the next 2 weeks. Play games, watch movies, have long lies, enjoy the sunshine and eat lots of CHOCOLATE!

There will be no more work uplaoded over the holidays but Teams pages will stay open if you wish to keep in touch with your classmates.

Take care everyone. We miss all your smiling faces.

Miss Hamilton. Mrs McCall, Mrs Smith and Mrs Carten.

Please Keep In Contact

Keep in Contact                                                                     1/4/20

Please remember the P3 teachers are available to email if you have any concerns or you just want to share something good that you have done at home. No question is too silly so please spread the word that we are here for you! Thank you to the parents who have already emailed us. The emails really help us to get a feel of what some people are needing during this crisis so that’s all good!

We can also be contacted via Microsoft Teams. Your child has been added to a class team and they can communicate with us that way. There is a previous post on this page as to  how to access Glow with your child’s password and once you are on Glow you can find the Teams tile. You can also download a Teams App on your mobile phone. Thank you to the children and parents who have been accessing Teams.

We are genuinely missing all of the children in our care and receiving a message from them actually makes our day! Please spread the word!

Happy Easter

Easter Activities                                                                      31.3.20

The Easter holidays are fast approaching so we thought it might be a good idea to suggest some fun activities for the children to do to keep them busy. We are going to post the activities on our “Just For Fun” section. Please remember that these activities are purely optional so have a browse and choose your favourites!

Have fun!

Week 2 – Good Morning

How many staff does the NHS need? - BBC News

Good morning

It’s the start of week 2 and the sun is still shining which is enough to make us all smile.  It will also give you an excuse to do some outdoor learning and play instead of being stuck inside – unless you are still in isolation.

We had a little idea this morning, that perhaps as a writing task this week you could write a “Thank You” card or letter to the NHS staff for keeping us all well and trying to beat this virus.  They are working so hard and we know some of you have parents who are doing their bit, so your card could be for them.

Post your cards online so we can see them when you finish them.  What you write is up to you, just be creative – and enjoy.

Important Home School Message

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Please remember to take your time to set up your home school. There is no rush to do everything and it is more important for your mental health  to be as stress free as possible during this crisis. Stressed adults cannot teach stressed children so it is vital that you ease yourself in to your home school situation. We do not want you to feel bombarded so please select what you feel you can to do. Every family set up will be different so please don’t  compare your child or family to another, what works for them may not work for you. We genuinely don’t want to give anyone extra stress! We will be continuing to upload ideas and activities so take your pick!

If you need to contact us by email don’t hesitate. Nothing is too silly a question!

Love to all of our wee friends!

SUMDOG

24.3.20

Good morning Primary 3

We have been setting up some extra activities for you and some parents have requested Sumdog accounts, so we have set you all up with an account.  This is an online maths program that will provide you with questions that are at your level.

You will first be asked to complete a variety of questions – some may be too difficult for you but put in an answer, as it will allow the software to establish where you need to start learning.  Once you’ve finished this initial set of questions it will set your level.

We will also add some challenges for you and games – some with time limits – to keep some focus on areas we have been learning about, so look out for these too.

You will find your login details under each of your class lists and everyone’s password is set at primary3.

Any questions – just ask.  Give it a try and have some fun!
