Coding and Dash Bots!

This week P4 have been learning to code using blocks.  They used a website called Code.org that allows users to programme Minecraft and Dance Party.  Learners also used an app called Blockly to programme Dash Bots, which everyone really enjoyed. 🙂

Programming Dash Bots also required some maths skills because learners had to think about the distance using cm and turns involving degrees when choosing commands.  Sometimes the Bots crashed but learners used growth mind set and problem solving to improve their instructions.

Children in Need Week

P4E took part in Joe Wicks’ Five to Thrive as part of Children in Need week.  These five activities were aimed at helping children to improve their health and wellbeing.  We also used Joe’s five minute exercise videos and took part in his 24 hour P.E challenge.

In class we made Pudsey Bears using our origami skills:

Dyselxia Friendly Awareness week

Bag A Book activity where learners discussed the reasons why they choose certain books, which included looking at the front cover, blurb, author and our prior knowledge.

Mummifying Tomatoes!

As part of our Ancient Egypt topic our class did a science experiment to learn more about the mummification process.  We can’t wait to see the results of our mummified tomatoes!

Update!

We have now looked at our tomatoes.   The skin became wrinkly, quite dull and tough.  This was a great way to show how a human’s skin would go during mummification.  We also completed our science report.
