Here are the markers for this week ( 2 ability levels).
The majority of children will be working on ‘tch’ but ‘ph’ is always a tricky sound and can be completed as revision if you wish.

Good Morning,
Today we would like to ease you as gently as possible in to the digital learning at home so it does not become too overwhelming for the children or adults working at home. We would suggest that to start off you practice logging on and off Bug Club and have the child have a wee look through one or two books. There is no need to complete activity bugs today, we will explain how they work soon but feel today should be a gentle transition for everyone. The children can also revisit books they have completed in the past by accessing the library section of Bug Club. If you have forgotten how to log on please check our previous post by scrolling down this page.
We will also add a familiar style “homework marker” to the page today. This set up will be familiar to you and gives spelling words for the week.
If you need to contact any of the P3 staff personally you will find email addresses on our main P3 blog page.
We hope everyone is healthy and that the children are their usual lovely wee selves.

Some parents/ carers may be wondering what Glow actually is . I have tried my best to simplify what it is and what parts of it are of use to your child in P3. I am trying my best not to use teacher jargon!
What Is Glow ?
Glow is Scotland’s nationally available digital environment and can help support learning across the curriculum. It is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Education Scotland. It provides us with a safe , online environment for teachers , young people and parents/carers to communicate and collaborate with using the services such as Glow Blogs, Microsoft Office 365 and the Glow RM Unify Launch Pad. These services can be accessed by the children anytime , anywhere and on any device.
How To Sign In
Your child was issued with a Glow Account Log in card which we put in the report card envelope which was recently issued. Please keep this safe because you need these details to access Glow. I will talk you how you access it and then explain the important parts.
What Next ?
Older children are communicating via their own personal Glow Blog however we feel it is simpler at the P3 stage for the children to us a tile named Microsoft Teams. If you scroll down to the bottom of the home screen ( Launch Pad ) you will find it . If you click on it you will be ready to go! Please see below for photos.
Microsoft Teams
This will be a super way of keeping the children in the classes in communication with each other. Please be aware that it should only be used during school hours as this will give everyone involved some form of routine throughout this difficult period.
P3S we are not forgetting about you so when Mrs Smith has her baby we will make sure you are all ok.
The P3 staff are all working very hard to set everything up to run as smoothly and simply as possible . We thank you parents / carers for their continued support. Our main P3 communication for all is our Primary 3 page but please also check the individual class tabs too.
Take care everyone,
Mrs McCall
Hi folks
Just to let you know that we now have a P3H Microsoft Team page to make contact easier. You will find the tile on your Glow page or download the app and use your Glow login.

Yesterday, all P3 children were issued with their report cards. Inside the report card envelope you will find important passwords that your child may need in the event of school closures , it is important to keep these passwords safe.
All the children are very special to us and we are trying hard to make this potential transition to home learning as smooth as possible for them . Please keep checking both the P3 page and Onthank Primary School main page for updates and useful information.
Thank you so much for your continued support.

If schools close in the coming days or weeks we would like the children to access Bug Club at home if possible. We have put together a step by step guide as to how to access it. Children will be issued with password details.
1. Google Bug Club
2. The top search says ActiveLearn:Login – click on that link.
3. That should take you to the password page.
4. Insert your personal login details.
5. The photos below show what to do. The “child” we have used to demonstrate this does not exist and is made up purely as an example.
6 . If you see a “bug” you click on it and your child will have a task to perform
Thank you,
The P3 teachers
Lucy and Lola both received Certificates of Excellence last week. Well done girls!
