School Disco – Thursday 30th March

Ochiltree Primary Disco
Ochiltree Primary School Main Hall
 
THURSDAY 30TH MARCH  6.30pm – 8.20pm
 P1 – P7
Price per child £2 pay on Parent Pay.
Snacks are available – see attached price list from the Parent Council.
Water is available throughout the evening free of charge.
All children to arrive at the front door and depart by the P5/6/7 doors.  All children will be checked in and checked out.
Parents should leave their child/ren at the main entrance by 6.30pm.  Please note that only school staff and PVG checked Parent Council volunteers will supervise the children.  
The Easter Raffle will be drawn at 8pm by the Parent Council and prizes issued to the children.
Children should be collected at 8.20pm.  A one way system will be in operation.  
Parents should enter the school by the main entrance, collect their child from the main hall and depart the school via the P6/7 classroom and exit door.
We look forward to our first disco in a long time.

Miners’ pieces!

Primary 5/6/7 had a culinary experience on Monday trying out a “piece”!

They tried plain bread, jam and cheese or bread, marmalade and cheese.

Red Nose Day – Friday 17 March

Ochiltree P.S. will be celebrating Red Nose Day on 17 March 2023 with a “dress down day”. Red Nose Day 2023 is on Friday 17 March. This year, the event focuses on raising money and awareness around the cost of living crisis, as millions of people in the UK and across the world need support now more than ever. Donations can be paid through ParentPay.  All raised funds will go to Comic Relief.

YIPWORD – Pedal-up Programme

YIPWORLD staff will run a 6 week programme on cycle maintenance and cycle skills  in the school from March to May 2023.  The training will take part during the school day across a number of weeks.

Places on the course are very limited and are now open to any interested P6 pupils. They must have their own bicycles  and cycle helmet. Places will be given out on on a first-come, first -served basis. 

If you would like your child to take part, please contact the school in writing by  3 p.m. on Monday 27 February.

*Further information will be sent out to those who are successful.

Children’s Mental Health Week – Mon 6th – Fri 10th February

 Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections. Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing. Maps of Ochiltree

This week Primary 6/7 have been busy studying 3 maps of Ochiltree from the past until present day. They were finding where they lived aswell as important local landmarks.

They looked at the legend, grid lines and contour lines.

Emma enjoyed figuring out where the River Lugar went.

Primary 6/7 Update

P6/7 were looking at different still life paintings by artists. They then drew their own Scottish themed drawings with a cubioid, cylinder and soft piece of material with folds in it. It was a challenging task but they all did a superb job – don’t you agree?
