Huge Progress in Numeracy

We have been working hard in our numeracy and covered various topics. We have looked at:

Place value within 1000
Mental maths
Number facts
Column addition with regrouping.
Column subtraction
Understanding addition and subtraction signs

And of course, our friends from Toy Story helped us with our counting.

Playing and Growing Together

The Finale of Fairytales

We concluded our Fairytales topic by:

Identifying well-known tales through emojis
Completing a quiz to test our knowledge
Growing our Gummy Bears (again)!
Inviting some of our key adults to a party with plenty of treats and music.

We have been working very hard with our phonemes- we enjoy doing active and practical activities to practise our words. Every Monday, we review what sound we have learned the previous week with some jotter work. Some of us have been working hard to achieve our target by working independently.

Fairyland Character Descriptions

We created our own story book characters for Fairyland. We decided whether our character was the hero or villain and used word banks to describe their personality and appearance. Some of us shared the story of our character with Miss W.

The pupils like to capture some moments of fun and play together and even like to take their own pictures. Miss Wallace and Mrs McConnell love seeing the pupils playing kindly, sharing and being respectful.

Regulate, Share, Repeat

We have been exploring the resources in the nurture room on a Friday. This session involves exploring a resource for five minutes and then swapping with the person next to you until you have had a turn of all resources. The pupils have shown excellent concentration, good listening and perfect sharing. Well done team!
