This week P1 were learning through the story Goldilocks and tasted some porridge. Some thought it was âjust right,âand a few brave tasters tried it even though they werenât sure at first. It was a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, explore new experiences, and talk about our likes and dislikes.
P1 enjoyed a lovely walk to the library today, making sure to cross the roads safely. Once there, they learned about library expectations, explored the space, and enjoyed some quiet reading time before listening to a story.
Our class will be visiting Stewarton Library on Thursday October 23rd at 11am and we are looking for parent helpers to join us on this visit. If you are available to help, please let the school office know as soon as possible, Thanks!
Our plans took a little change waiting for our P1 picture to be taken. Because of this, P1 enjoyed a surprise adventure instead! đđ We watched Wallace and Gromit: A Grand Day Out and then designed our very own rockets. The children shared where their rocket would take them â from the moon to magical lands
P1B had lots of fun taking part in Maths Week Scotland.
We explored outdoors looking for shapes, children were able to draw they 2D shapes they recognised and name the 3D shapes they could find.
We also listened to the Rainbow Fish and discussed what 3D shapes made up the Rainbow Fish and then made our own mini fish using playdoh.
Finally we went on a number scavenger hunt while enjoying the sun (while it lasted).
Reminder P1 will be having a visit from the Kilmarnock Standard tomorrow 30th September!
Please be aware if you have not yet completed your photo permissions or have answered no to newspaper publications you child will not be in the newspaper photo.
If this is something you did want your child to be a part of, please don’t hesitate to catch me at the door or contact the school office before 09:00am.
We would also be very grateful for any baking donations, either homemade or shop bought. Donations can still be handed in (tomorrow morning). Please ensure any Tupperware/containers are labelled with your childâs name and class so that they can be safely returned after our coffee morning.
As we are a nut free school, please do not hand in any donations containing nuts. Children with an identified food allergy will be provided with a piece of baking from the catering team.
