Febru-Read!

Both Primary 1 classes joined forces this week again for outdoor learning.
Yet again the weather did not stop them from working as a team to come up with creative ways to approach their tasks.
They experimented with different ideas to measure the depth of their digging by using non-standard units of measure (hands, feet and even legs to name a few). They developed their fine motor skills while creating number lines with chalk. Then took on different characters during role-play, it seems we have some budding baristas in the classes. Some children used the rain and paintbrushes, they had a lot of fun working on their letter formation and common words. There was also some design problems solved in the construction area with water jugs being built to catch the rain.
Literacy, numeracy, science and expressive arts all in a Primary 1 afternoon!
P1B and P1R had a lovely afternoon yesterday trying some Scottish food and drink.
We voted on the things we thought we would and wouldn’t like. Talked about what made the food Scottish and what it was made from. Then onto the tasting…
We had some thumbs up and some very BIG thumbs down for certain foods.
Note to self, pepper oatcakes are very spicy… Nothing a little Irn Bru couldn’t fix though!
Well done P1 for being brave and trying things out of your comfort zone
Please find attached individual Nativity pictures. If your child is missing please let me know and I will get their picture to you. Children without Blog permission will be sent directly.
We hope you enjoyed our show, we had the best time performing it
I hope to get the concert pictures uploaded after school today.
Due to the number, I am running into some technical difficulties.
P1 did so well in their afternoon nativity performance today! We are so proud of them.
If children want to bring a snack for after their evening performance, then please provide a small snack for them to enjoy with a Christmas movie.
Any questions, catch us at the door! Thanks,
Miss Barrett and Miss Ronald
