P1R weekly highlights
P1R enjoyed taking their learning outdoors this week for Maths Week Scotland. Learners completed a shape hunt and a number scavenger hunt in partners. Everyone did so well!
We were super busy in the classroom too – learning new sounds, reading new stories and attending a very yummy MacMillan Coffee Morning.
We’re looking forward to the week ahead and everything it brings! See you soon, Miss Ronald

P1 Parent Information Session
Hi everyone,
Please find attached a copy of the P1 Information Session Powerpoint, from Thursday evening:
You will also find a copy of it in the ‘Yearly Overview’ tab, so it can be easily referred back to at any time.
Thanks,
Miss Ronald
MacMillan Coffee Morning
NRPS are delighted to be hosting our Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 26th September in the gym hall from 9:30am – 12pm. P1R will be visiting the coffee morning from 9:30am to 9:50am, if you wish to pop along and join your child all in the name of a very worthwhile cause. All children will be given a piece of baking and we would ask that children bring in a donation with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
We would also be very grateful for any baking donations, either homemade or shop bought. Donations can be handed in from today (Wednesday 24th September) onwards. Please ensure any Tupperware/containers are labelled with your child’s name and class so that they can be safely returned after our coffee morning.
As we are a nut free school, please do not hand in any donations containing nuts. Children with an identified food allergy will be provided with a piece of baking from the catering team.
We very much look forward to seeing you. Thanks!
Parent Session
Hi everyone,
Our P1 information session is taking place this Thursday 25th September from 5pm to 6pm.
Please come along to hear more about class learning and daily routines. Class teachers will be happy to answer any questions you have as well.
Hope to see you then. Thanks!
Miss Ronald
Rocket Phonics
Hi all,
Some parents were enquiring about our Rocket Phonics resource. P1 learners have not been assigned books for homework yet. However, if you wish to check your child’s log-in and explore the resource, then please feel free to do so!
To find out more, please use the below link:
https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/ea/netherrobertland/rocket-phonics-reading/
This will take you to our school blog where you will find the parent guides, explaining the logging in process step-by-step.
You might also need our Centre ID code – 151765.
Thanks,
Miss Ronald
Homework folders
Our new homework folders went out today 😀
In the folder, you will find:
- An active learning booklet with suggested activities for literacy and numeracy. You will find more activities on the Home Learning section of the blog, as well as details about the learning for the week.
- A lined homework jotter that children can use for written homework. These jotters reflect the ones we use in class.
As homework is not compulsory, jotters will not be monitored by class teachers weekly. However, if your child wishes to show off their home learning, then please send their jotters into school and I will be more than happy to a look!
Any questions, just let me know. Thanks very much,
Miss Ronald

Hi all,

Thanks,

Meet the Teacher
Hi everyone,
We’re really looking forward to P1R’s ‘Meet the Teacher’ tomorrow, from 1:45pm to 2:15pm.
See you then!
Miss Ronald
Welcome!
Hi everyone,
P1R had a great first day of school yesterday! The next few days are set to be super busy and lots of fun.
Next week, we will be starting P.E. routines and outdoor learning. If you are able to drop P.E. kits and outdoor learning gear into school over the next few days, then that would be great. For outdoor learning, we ask for welly boots and puddle suits (although, separate waterproof jackets would also be fine). Thanks to those who have already brought their kits in.
If any questions, feel free to catch me at the school gates.
Thanks for your help,
Miss Ronald
