This homework is for the next 2 weeks as we have this Friday and Monday off school.
Literacy
Spelling/Phonics – new words will be added to homework jotters on Tuesday. Please practice these at home using the strategies stuck in homework jotters.
Reading – Try to read for 10 to 15 minutes each night. If you do more, that’s great!
Numeracy
There is a Scotland Sumdog contest starting on Monday 21st. This is a big task as each pupil is attempting to get as many correct answers as possible out of 1000 questions!! We will do some in class but it would be a big help if everyone tries for 15 to 20 minutes at home each day – we will get through the 1000 questions in no time!!
IDL – Make a Viking Shield
Design and make your own Viking Shield using cardboard/paper plates/cereal boxes etc.
- Choose a Viking inspired pattern or symbol
- Create a Viking name and write it on the shield eg Erik the Brave or Freya the Fearless
- Decorate it using materials you have at home
- Make it as colourful or realistic as you like
We will create a Viking Shield Wall display in our classroom.
