P6/7D had fun last week at our Mexican Fiesta, linked to our Book Week Scotland novel, Esperanza Rising!
We played Loteria (Mexican bingo), a Bean Challenge and sampled some Mexican cuisine while listening to traditional Mexican music!

Thursday of last week saw us brave the rain to visit our local library. We had a good browse around before selecting one to take home. Remember, our date for returning these is 4th December!
P6/7D enjoyed our taster session with Sensai Liam from Senjokai Karate this week! Liam spoke to us about the origins of Karate and other martial arts and about the skills it can help us to develop.
P6/7 thoroughly enjoyed our wellbeing and Yoga session with Susan, yesterday. We chatted about ways to keep our bodies and minds healthy, then practised some yoga positions, focusing on breathing.
Our P7s thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the science and technology departments of Stewarton Academy, yesterday. They made wooden pencil holders in technology and lava lamps in science! What an introduction to practical subjects!
P6/7 had a great time helping the S4s on their leadership journey, in the first of our 3 visits last week! The S4s arranged and supervised 4 different activities for us all to try!
We followed the story of William and Lizzie, and how they lived through the Plague in their village of Eyam. We re-enacted some of the events and learned that the plague is thought to be the origin of the nursery rhyme ‘ Ring a Ring o Roses’!
