P4 made the most of the lovely weather and brought our reading books outdoors to read them in the glorious sunshineâď¸.
We also loved reading in the outdoor classroom spaceâ¤ď¸!

Today we celebrated David Attenboroughs 100th birthday.
We enjoyed learning all about him and creating posters to celebrate!
Did you know….
Sir David was born in London on 8th May 1926. He collected fossils and stones as a child and had a fascination with animals and nature.
Sir David was first awarded a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II in 1985
Sir David is known all over the world as an expert on wildlife, the environment and for bringing the natural world into our homes.
He is a National Treasure

Thank you P1R for coming into P4 to share your learning!
We loved taking part in your survey and seeing the results through the use of pictogram graphsđ

We have loved being able to go outdoors for PE this week.
The sport we are starting with this term is badminton.

ScienceÂ
In groups we had to come up with our own experiments to see how different amounts of light and water affected how cress would grow. We did this to mimic the different climates in Scotland and Mexico as Scotland get more rain and Mexico gets more sun. We made predictions about what we thought would happen. We also kept a cress diary to record their progress daily. Â
TechnologyÂ
We used digital technology to research the weather in Scotland and Mexico in different months and used this information to film our own weather reports. We also used online technology to create online graphs to display the cresses growth. We added to the graph every day. Â
EngineeringÂ
As a class we discussed what the cress would need if it was growing outside and we decided it would need protection from risks such as animals and harsh weather. We first designed different structures that could protect the cress. Then we attended to build some using K-Nex. After further discussion we decided that greenhouses would be the best solution so we designed and build our own greenhouses for the cress.Â
NumeracyÂ
We investigated different types of graphs such as bar, line, pie charts, Venn Diagrams and pictograms. We then created our own Venn Diagrams. We used our measuring skills to measure the cresses growth and recorded this using a line graph. Â

We all looked fantastic today for World Book Day!
We had a great day reading our new books and visiting P1B to read to them.

P4W and P2S had a great time working together to create posters and decorations for the grand opening of the outdoor classroom.
Both classes demonstrated the school values of teamwork, respect, determination and responsibility.
It was great fun to work with P2S.
I think you will agree we did a great job !
