What a busy week!
Numeracy
We have been practising our 6 times tables in lots of different ways, including online games.

P.E
We have been dancing a lot this week with a Kpop Demon Hunters dance session from Jam Street Dance as well as having Just Dance fun with our friends from P4W.

Science
In science we made board games with our electricity circuit knowledge, fantastic games were made!

Topic
We also got to have a live lesson from The National Museum of Scotland all about Viking artifacts, we learnt lots and it was very interesting.

P4H have done some fantastic work for our topic and have created a display to showcase some of their hard work.
Homework for the week has been posted in the home learning tab.

Another short week this week!
This week has been Maths Week Scotland and the theme this year was Wild Maths!

P4H and P4W teamed up for some maths fun this week, here is some of what we got up to 🙂
Measuring
We took our learning outside to look at different ways to measure. We used meter sticks, as well as non-standard units such as sticks and feathers!

Times Tables
We used the time outside to find different ways to practise our times tables, this included times table hopscotch.

Symmetry
To extend our knowledge of symmetry we got to use Minecraft Education to try and create the other half of different shapes and buildings. The children were a lot better at navigating the world than Miss Day and have taught me lots!

Shape
We also explored shape outside to create tally charts on all the different shapes we could see. We found out the school is made up from A LOT of rectangles, but we didn’t have time to count them all (even though some tried!)

The first of 2 short weeks, but P4H were still busy getting lots done.
Literacy
We have been continuing to work on our guides, using the laptops to research an area to write a guide on, taking notes preparing to create a powerpoint with all the information we have gathered.
Numeracy
We have been using partitioning to help add 3 digit numbers together.
We have also been making tiling patterns with 2D shapes.
Bikeability
Another successful week of bikeability, even in the rain!
IDL
We have been looking at how the Vikings lived back in the 800s, comparing things they had then to what we have now. We also thought about what a day in the life of a Viking might have looked like.
Homework for the week has been posted in the home learning tab.
Each week, during our time in the library, we will choose our book of the week. This is a book that we think other people would find interesting and we recommend.
3 children each week make their choice of book and the rest of the class vote for a book.
This week our book of the week was:

The class also made posters to advertise the book.
