Book of the week
Each week, during our time in the library, we will choose our book of the week. This is a book that we think other people would find interesting and we recommend.
3 children each week make their choice of book and the rest of the class vote for a book.
This week our book of the week was:
The class also made posters to advertise the book.
Weekly Update w/b: 08.09.25
Literacy
This week for writing we have been looking at different types of guides and creating our own guide to look after a dog.
We have been looking at what headings and subheadings are and how we can add them to our work.
Numeracy
In numeracy we have been looking at different 2D and 3D shapes.
We tried making our own 3D shapes using nets (some were very tricky!).
We are now moving on to look at how 2D shapes can be tiled.
The class has been set a weekend task to see how many different tiled shapes they can spot. We have already spotted some around the school.
Science
We are continuing to learn about electricity and this week we have been focussed on how to stay safe around electricity. Including making safety posters and identifying hazards.
IDL
Our topic this term is the Vikings! We have had lots of fun in the class acting out packing for a trip from Scandinavia to the UK on a longship and thought about how people would feel making that journey. We also looked at the designs of longships and started to draw our own.
Homework
Homework has been posted in the Home Learning tab.
All children have been given their boost learning log ins.
Please keep these (safe!) at home.
Sumdog log ins will come home later in the week.
Electricity
We have been learning about electrical circuits in science.
This week we had the chance to join up with P4W to investigate making our own circuits.
The children worked in groups to explore the different resources we have and were able to successfully make their own circuits.
Homework
Homework will be issued on Monday 8th September.
All information will be posted into the Home Learning section of the blog.
Children will come home on Monday with any log in information they might need to complete the work.
Thanks.
