Weekly Update w.b/05.01.26

We have had a great first week back and although we have all been tired, we have made it to the end!

We have been practising our Scots poem this week and there is fantastic progress already!

Numeracy

We have been revising the 4 mathematical operations and it is good to see how many children could successfully remember how to do them all.

Writing

We are continuing with our writing programme and our focus is currently on punctuation.

Art

We have been looking at the art technique pointillism and have created our own 4 season trees (You might notice not all of the paint ended up on the paper…)

2026 Resolutions

We were looking at different new years resolutions (in both English and French) and were thinking about what we want to achieve this year. We have them displayed in class so we can remind ourselves of our goals.

Scots Poem

Scots Language week is 19th January, in celebration 3 pupils from each class will be chosen to perform at a special assembly..

Primary 4’s Scots poem this year is A Dug, A Dug by Bill Keys

Please practise at home and we will be doing lots of different work around the poem and Scots language in general in class 🙂

Viking Longships

After weeks of collecting cardboard and plastic, we finally had enough to make some viking longships.

The children worked together to make their designs come to life and its safe to say the outcomes were brilliant!

Well done everyone!

Christmas Concert – What to wear.

For the Christmas concert on Tuesday 9th December, please wear one of the following options:

  • Something Christmassy
  • Something green or red
  • School Uniform

Please no accessories (including, headbands or wrist wear) as we don’t want to distract from the Makaton / block people who are stood behind us 

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
