James and the Giant Peach

Good afternoon everyone. What a beautiful day it is today. I hope you are all staying safe in the sun and wearing your sunscreen. One of my favourite books when I was small was James and the Giant Peach. There is a new online version which has made me laugh constantly while watching it. You may even recognise some of the famous faces who have speaking parts on it. Here is chapter 1… enjoy… Mrs B x

Travel the World.

Good afternoon everyone,

Most of us are stuck indoors today as the weather isn’t very nice, however I thought we could all have an imaginary trip to somewhere in the world today right from our own home. Let’s start…

Choose a country…Canada

What animals live there?… Elk, Raccoon, Grizzly Bear, Wolverine, Moose and Striped Skunk.

Which continent is it in?…North America

What languages are most commonly spoken in Canada?…English and French

3 facts about Canada…(1) Canada is the second largest country in the world. (2) The most popular sport in Canada is Ice Hockey (3) Mrs Bradford’s dad used to live in Canada.

Go choose your country and post your answers.

⭐️EXCITING NEWS! ⭐️

Hi everyone. We hope you’re all well and keeping safe and healthy! We’re delighted to announce that Hillhouse has been awarded funding by the National Lottery in the Awards for All category!

Due to this funding we are now able to offer a reduced service. Have your children grown during lockdown and you’re needing support with clothing? Do you need any essential baby equipment? If so, then we’re happy to help. Here is everything you need to know:

To request items, please;
🔵 Send us a message on here
🔵 Email; eileen@hillhousehelps.co.uk with a note of your name and phone number and we will come back to you
🔵 Call us on 01563 523362 and leave your name and phone number and we will come back to you as soon as we can

Opening Hours & Collections
🔵 We will be offering a reduced service so we will only be at the Distribution Centre on selected days and times when we need to make up packs or be available for collections
🔵 Families will be given a day and a time to collect items
🔵 Please do not come to the Distribution Centre if you haven’t been given a time as we don’t want anyone to come to us and we’re not there.

Covid- 19 Precautions;
🔵 Only one member of our team will be working
🔵 We will be adhering to strict social distancing guidelines
🔵 Packs will be placed on steps for collection (when you have arrived)
🔵 We will be following strict hygiene procedures

🔵 NO DONATIONS will be accepted at this time;

We know that time at home has given us the opportunity to do all of the jobs you’ve been meaning to get round to, including sorting through clothes 👚👗👖 You may want to donate them to us however, as lockdown restrictions are in place, we are unable to receive your donations. Please note that any donations left outside our centre will not be collected, and as a result, they may become damaged by the elements and therefore no longer up to our standard of quality.

We thank you for all your continued support and we looking forward to seeing you all very soon! From all the Hillhouse Team. 💜

Another animal story :)

For all of us animal lovers here’s a story about a wee dog who feels different. He doesn’t realise that being different is actually a good thing…just ask me and Miss McQueen !
